Amanamanha Library

The Amanamanha Library will be a point of meeting for research and cultural production, and will also lend its books to the local community.

The publications are being donated by the participants of the institute and anybody who wish to collaborate. Its access will be public and free, thanks to the work of volunteers who will do the management and organization. It will share its space with the Free School, playing an important role as part of the Institute.

It will start functioning as reading room, with books for consultation and evolving later for circulating library, effecting loans, and organizing cultural projects for the neighborhood.

Communitarian Library - Amanamanha InstituteIn accordance with the Institute philosophy, it does not have restriction in relation to the areas of knowledge. The books will be organized by areas such as libertarian education, solidaristic economy, environment, technologies of low cost and impact, culinary, infant literature, novels, comics, as well as reference books and a small map collection. There will also be a computer connected to the Internet with CD-Roms, and a printer, thus extending the possibilities of study and research.

In the future more areas will be incorporated to the knowledge base and more projects will be stimulated by the Library. In this direction, some activities and courses will be developed, such as: news-paper publication; hand made impression; manufacture of paper; book restoration; literature workshops; groups of study and research; story telling; etc.
